Do you ever watch Pixar's Cars and just think how the characters would have looked like in their human states?
That is, if we were following the laws of the Pixar Theory. Side note: If you are not aware of the Pixar Theory then you need to watch the super informative video by the Super Carlin Bros! Alright back to Doc Hudson. I just imagine Doc as a man who has lived his career but still manages to dress dapper. Kind of like another infamous Pixar character, Carl Fredricksen.
When a Disneyland trip is in the works you have to take multiple pictures in the life scale model of Radiator Springs, Cars Land. There’s no better way to take pictures in a Disney Park then Disneybounding as your favorite character.
One way to get inspiration for your Disneybound is by going to a thrift store and finding the pieces at a great price! What I did with Doc was pretty simple.
Step 1: The Trousers
Because of the dapper gentlemen that the Hudson Hornet is, I had to go with a pair of pleated trousers. Doc is pretty simple himself, but I thought a nice subtle pattern or texture would work great. I was able to find a pair of Tommy Hilfiger pleated trouser for just $6! I just needed to make a few alterations to them, which any local tailor can do.
Step 2: The Shirt
Next was the top, being that this is sunny California I had to go with something lightweight. I had this Doc blue floral J Crew short-sleeve button down that has been a staple in my closet, so that was a piece of cake.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
The last main piece was a classic simple pair of Cole Haan loafers, which is another mainstay in my wardrobe. The cherry on top would have to be a Route 66 Cars pin and the simple Ray-ban shades that give it a retro look.
When the night falls and the neon begins to light up all across Radiator Springs don’t be afraid to get grab your sportcoat and milkshake from Flo’s. I challenge you to bound as your favorite Pixar automobile and get your kicks on Route 66!
