Aloha Disney Style

Suns out, florals & patterns out.

It’s that time of year again, the sun is out and temperatures are reaching triple digits. What's my go to for the blistering weather? It's not your basic graphic tee, but instead it's the perfect button down, a Hawaiian shirt.

I think this is the perfect summer option because of the four B's:

1. BREATHABILITY
The materials are always breathable; linen, silk, light cottons or rayon. Something that edges your Gildan tee.

2. BOLD
The graphics and patterns are always bold and ready to make a statement. Best believe that it’s going to break some necks.

3. BUTTONS
The shirt has buttons so you can leave a few open and feel your inner John Travolta, to let your body breathe and let that breeze hit you in all the right spots.

4. BUILDABILITY
You can dress it up, over a plain white tee, tucked into a pair of pleated khakis or dress is down to wear with a pair of 7” shorts to get the tan your thighs have been needing.

Disney plus Hawaiian shirts are a match made in heaven. When I first think of this I think of the Pixar Man himself, John Lasseter, because he is always sporting an awesome Pixar Reyn Spooner Hawaiian shirt of the latest movie out. But you didn’t come here to get inspired by some 60 year old who wears Hawaiian shirts to the red carpet, you want something that is straight out of a GQ zine. It’s always a jackpot when I find a Hawaiian shirt that mixes awesome patterns with Disney characters. When it comes to shirts I usually go to my go to’s; JCrew, Zara or H&M.

However, don’t discredit the mouse because lately they have been collaborating with some pretty awesome brands to put out some gnarly button downs. If you’re at your local mall check out GAP because they have an awesome Stars Wars Collection. Target has even stepped into the ring by joining forces with Junk Food to put out a Hawaiian shirt that just makes you want to shout “Oh Boy!”.

Lastly, I can’t leave out Tommy Bahama because Disney has been working with them the past couple of years and my wallet was not been a big fan. If you’re at the Disney Parks check out these awesome shirts because they make for a most tubular souvenir.
